• Mutation details: A construct was inserted that uses the human ubiquitin C promoter to potentially drive expression of one of two variant forms of hen-egg lysozyme (HEL). A floxed polyadenylation sequence separates the promoter from the first FRT flanked HEL^3x sequence and another polyadenylation sequence. This was followed by the HEL^4x sequence and a third polyadenylation sequence. HEL^4x differs from HEL^3x by the presence of an additional K97R mutation. Cre expression places HEL^3x under the control of the human UBC promoter. Flp expression followed by cre expression removes the HEL^3x sequence and places HEL^4x under the control of the promoter.
