Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:164345
Parent Cell Line:  MCI (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S2/SvPas
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsThe loxP-flanked exon 2 of Serpina6tm1Mmp, containing the entire protein coding sequence, has been excised by Cre recombinase. Quantitative real-time PCR analysis of liver mRNA detects no transcripts from the targeted gene in homozygous mutant mice and ~50% of wild-type transcript levels in heterozygous mice. Immunoblot analysis of plasma of homozygous mutant, heterozygous and wild-type mice yields confirmatory results for the for the protein. (J:164345)

Notes
Gene targeting to generate Serpina6tm1Mmp was performed at the Mouse Clinical Institute (Illkirch, France)(J:164345), which according to their Web site (http://www.ics-mci.fr/index.html) employs "ES cells of the 129SvPas strain."
