• Mutation details: The rat elastase promoter drives expression of the human interleukin-1beta gene. Expression of the transgene was confirmed in the pancreas by reverse-transcription (RT)-PCR and by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA) measurement of human IL-1beta peptide in pancreatic protein extracts. Expression was not detected in any of the other tissues analyzed, including liver, submaxillary glands, kidney, lung, and spleen. (J:142524)
