Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:132129
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA GFP-neo cassette with sequence encoding a 14 amino acid linker was inserted in frame into exon 2 replacing most of it. Only the first 4 amino acids of exon 2, the first coding exon, are expressed. The presence of the fusion transcript and protein was confirmed by RT-PCR and immunohistochemistry, respectively. The absence of the endogenous transcript was confirmed by RT-PCR. This is a null allele. (J:132129)
