Mapping and Phenotype information for this QTL, its variants and associated markers

J:100631

Advanced intercross lines (AIL) and interval specific congenic strains (ISCS) were used to fine map previously identified anxiety QTL on mouse Chromosome 1, 10, and 19. AIL at the F12 generation were derived from A/JOlaHsd and C57BL/6JOlaHsd parental inbred strains. 1077 AIL animals were typed for 22 microsatellite markers on chromosome 1, 8 microsatellite markers on chromosome 10, and 12 microsatellite markers on chromosome 19. These markers are at an average spacing of 3.3 cM.

Exq1 on distal mouse Chromosome 10 was confirmed in the AIL set and localized to an interval between 71.3 cM - 73.5 cM. Exq1 is significantly linked to light/dark transitions and traveled distance in 15 minutes (TD15) with LOD=11.9 near D10Mit103. The major Exq1 peak occurs at 72.3 cM with a possible second peak at 70 cM. However, the two-QTL model did not reach statistical significance. Exq1 was also confirmed in the ISCS set.

Exq4 was confirmed at 34 cM on mouse Chromosome 19. The Exq4 interval spans 9 cM between 29 cM and 38.2 cM. This locus is significantly linked to light/dark transitions with LOD=4.2 near D19Mit19.

Fear and anxiety QTL on mouse Chromosome 1 were not detected in the AIL or ISCS sets.
