Interval mapping was performed on a (BALB/c x C57BL/6)F1 x (C3H x DBA/2)F1 cross to identify QTLs affecting the level of T cell subsets in virgin and mated animals at 8 and 18 months of age. A QTL associated with CD4 T cell subset levels, Cd4ts4, mapped to 35 cM (D9Mit104) on mouse Chromosome 9 with statistical significance of P<0.05. Cd4ts4 is associated with CD4 T cell levels in 8 month old virgin mice.
