Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:98037
Parent Cell Line:  E14.1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsLoxP sites were introduced to flank exon 4, which contains the DE polymerase motifs conserved in all Y family polymerases. Cre expression mediated excision of exon 4 in ES cells, resulting in the direct splicing of exons 3-5. The out-of-frame junction would introduce a stop codon and therefore a truncated protein of 102 amino acids. (J:98037)
