Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Lama1tm1Ekb
Name: laminin, alpha 1; targeted mutation 1, Peter Ekblom
MGI ID: MGI:3530455
Synonyms: AlphaILG4-5-
Gene: Lama1  Location: Chr17:67697265-67822645 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr17, 38.8 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:96100
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Disruption caused by insertion of vector
Mutation detailsThe 7 exons encoding the alphaLm globular (LG) 5 region were removed by fusion of the DraIII and SmaI restriction sites, creating an in-frame deletion. A neo-HSV-tk flanked by loxP sites was inserted downstream of the stop codon and polyA tail. The last 341 residues of the C terminus were deleted and the linker region between alpha1LG3 and alpha1LG4 and a short sequence of the first Beta-strand of the alpha1LG4 domain were left intact.
