MGI ID: MGI:3055889
Synonyms: Erk2floxS
Gene: Mapk1  Location: Chr16:16983382-17047453 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr16, 10.53 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:89903
Parent Cell Line:  EB3/5 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA targeting vector was used to insert a floxed region containing a splice acceptor, IRES, neo and SV40 pA into intron 2. Mapk1 cDNA with a polyA tail was inserted in place of exon 3. Protein was undetectable by immunoblot analysis. (J:89903)

ES cell line EB3/5 is a mutant E14TG2a line carrying one inactivated allele of Pou5f1.
Rescue of placental defects by complementation with tetraploid embryos extends survival up to at least E13.5. These rescued mutant mice have a normal heart, exhibit normal placental development and grow as well as wild-type embryos.
