Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Mtortm1Yam
Name: mechanistic target of rapamycin kinase; targeted mutation 1, Shinya Yamanaka
MGI ID: MGI:3052669
Synonyms: mTOR-
Gene: Mtor  Location: Chr4:148448611-148557683 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr4, 78.76 cM, cytoband E1
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:92252
Parent Cell Line:  RF8 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsExons 44 to 47, encoding the kinase domain, were replaced by an IRES-Betageo-pA cassette. Northern blot of heterozygous ES cells showed reduced expression and detected a larger transcript, corresponding to the fusion of Frap1 to Betageo. Western blot showed that protein levels were also reduced. (J:92252)
