Name: leukotriene C4 synthase; targeted mutation 1, Bing K Lam
MGI ID: MGI:3029254
Synonyms: LTC4S-
Gene: Ltc4s  Location: Chr11:50236461-50238532 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr11, 30.4 cM, cytoband B1.1-B1.2
Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:87909
Parent Cell Line:  AB2.2 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S7/SvEvBrd-Hprtb-m2
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsA neomycin gene cassette replaced 289 nucleotides from intron 1 as well as exons 2 through 4 and 32 nucleotides from intron 4. Northern blot analysis of RNA from bone marrow macrophages confirmed the absence of normal transcripts. An exon 5 containing transcript was produced however. No leukotriene C4 was detectable.
