Mutation
origin
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:85502
Parent Cell Line:  W9.5/W95 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S1/Sv-Oca2+ Tyr+ Kitl+
Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsExons 2 through 5 were replaced with a cassette containing tau-lacZ and neo. The deleted region included the start codon, and sequence encoding the signal peptide and first two Ig domains. Neither transcript nor protein was detected by RT-PCR and Western blot analysis of homozygous mutant mice. Immunolabeling of sciatic nerve tissue showed no specific staining. (J:85502)
