Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Prnp)d11Cwe expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsTo define the requirements of Prnp for conferring susceptibility to scrapie, N- terminal deletion mutants of the Prnp genes were constructed in transgenic mice. In this transgenic line, amino acids 32-80 were deleted but the codons for signal sequence and nine additional amino acids were retained to ensure correct processing and cellular localization.
