Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Hist1h1atm1Drab
Name: histone cluster 1, H1a; targeted mutation 1, Birgit Drabent
MGI ID: MGI:2386881
Synonyms: H1.1-deficient
Gene: Hist1h1a  Location: Chr13:23763717-23764358 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr13, 9.91 cM, cytoband A3.2
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:60631
Parent Cell Line:  E14.1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe entire coding region of the gene (from the translation initiation codon to 463 bp of the 3' flanking region) was replaced with a neomycin resistance cassette via homologous recombination. Absence of gene expression in homozygous mutant animals was demonstrated by RNase protection assay and Western blot analysis. Furthermore, in situ hybridization and immunohistochemical analysis of testes from homozygous mutant animals confirmed the absence of RNA and protein products. (J:60631)
