Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Humanized sequence, Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Ins-BCL2L1)2Ksp expresses 1 gene

Mutation details0.82 kb of human BCL2L1 cDNA preceded by 12.9 kb of rat insulin promoter and enhancer sequences was used for the transgene. Specific expression of the transgene in beta-cells of the pancreas was confirmed by immunohistochemical analysis. Protein staining was detected in beta-cells of transgenic animals, but not in non-beta-cells, liver, exocrine tissue, small intestine, or lymph nodes. Western blot analysis showed expression of the human protein is at least 10-fold greater that of endogenous protein. (J:78000)
