Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Pitx2tm1Rsd
Name: paired-like homeodomain transcription factor 2; targeted mutation 1, Michael G Rosenfeld
MGI ID: MGI:2384494
Synonyms: Pitx2-, Pitx2LacZ
Gene: Pitx2  Location: Chr3:128993527-129013240 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr3, 57.84 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:57673
Parent Cell Line:  R1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  (129X1/SvJ x 129S1/Sv)F1-Kitl+
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout, Reporter)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsThe gene was disrupted by replacement of the entire homeodomain and C-terminus with an in-frame lacZ-neo cassette via homologous recombination. Southern blot analysis identified homozygous mutant embryos up to E15. X-gal staining of mutant embryos demonstrated the expression pattern of the lacZ targeted insert is similar to that of endogenous protein. (J:57673)
