Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Csf2rbtm1Mur
Name: colony stimulating factor 2 receptor, beta, low-affinity (granulocyte-macrophage); targeted mutation 1, Richard Murray
MGI ID: MGI:2181261
Synonyms: betac-, betac mutant
Gene: Csf2rb  Location: Chr15:78325990-78351000 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr15, 37.36 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:24122
Parent Cell Line:  E14.1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsExon 4 was replaced by a neomycin cassette via homologous recombination. The deleted region encodes the third and fourth cysteine residues in the first repeat of the conserved motif of cytokine receptors. FACS analysis of bone marrow cells isolated from homozygous mutant mice showed a lack of a functional receptor. Additional FACS analysis showed that expression of the homologous protein, Csf3rb2, was intact. (J:24122)
