Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Cnr2tm1Zim
Name: cannabinoid receptor 2 (macrophage); targeted mutation 1, Andreas Zimmer
MGI ID: MGI:2181023
Synonyms: CB2-, CB2tm1, CB2xP, CNR2-
Gene: Cnr2  Location: Chr4:135895394-135920207 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr4, 68.01 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:62417
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation details341 nucleotides were deleted from the 3' end of the single exon and replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The deleted region encoded a portion of the intracellular loop 3, transmembrane domains 6 and 7, and the C-terminus. Absence of ligand-binding in spleen sections and homogenates derived from homozygous mutant mice was determined by receptor autoradiography. In addition, binding studies of brain homogenates confirmed that the brain cannabinoid receptor was unaffected by the targeting event. (J:62417)
