Mutation details: A neomycin resistance gene was inserted into exon 7, introducing a translational stop codon into the open reading frame. Northern blot analysis showed an absence of expression in the livers and kidneys of homozygous mice. No enzymatic activity was detected in assays of kidney and spleen homogenates from homozygotes.
