Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Chrm1tm1Stl
Name: cholinergic receptor, muscarinic 1, CNS; targeted mutation 1, Susumu Tonegawa
MGI ID: MGI:2158743
Synonyms: M1 -
Gene: Chrm1  Location: Chr19:8641369-8660970 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr19, 5.44 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:73448
Parent Cell Line:  Not Specified (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  C57BL/6
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA 3 kb genomic fragment containing the entire coding region of the gene was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. Northern blot analysis on RNA derived from forebrain of homozygous mice demonstrated that no detectable transcript was produced from this allele. In situ hybridization analysis on sagittal brain sections of homozygous mice further confirmed that the transcript was not expressed. (J:73448)
