Name: acyl-Coenzyme A oxidase 1, palmitoyl; targeted mutation 1, Janardan K Reddy
MGI ID: MGI:1857811
Synonyms: ACOX-, Acox1-, AOX-
Gene: Acox1  Location: Chr11:116171888-116199045 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr11, 80.96 cM
Hepatocellular alterations in liver of Acox1tm1Jkr/Acox1tm1Jkr mice

Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:35794
Parent Cell Line:  BK4 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129P2/OlaHsd
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA 1.3kb SstI-BamHI segment containing exons 8 and 9 was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. The 3.8-kb transcript is undetectable in RNA derived from the livers of homozygous mice by Northern blot. Western blots and enzymatic assays confirmed the absence of functional protein in homozygous mice. (J:35794)
