Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Rac2tm1Mddw
Name: Rac family small GTPase 2; targeted mutation 1, Mary C Dinauer and David A Williams
MGI ID: MGI:1857701
Synonyms: rac2-, Rac2tm1Daw
Gene: Rac2  Location: Chr15:78443369-78456983 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr15, 37.57 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:53362
Parent Cell Line:  CCE/EK.CCE (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S/SvEv-Gpi1c
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance cassette replaced a genomic fragment containing exon 1, which encodes the translational initiation site and part of the GTP-binding domain. Northern blot and RT-PCR analysis demonstrated that no transcripts were detectable in total RNA derived from neutrophils or lymphocytes in homozygous mice. Western blot analysis confirmed an absence of protein produced from this allele in peritoneal exudate cells from homozygous mice. (J:53362)
