Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Syt1tm1Sud
Name: synaptotagmin I; targeted mutation 1, Thomas C Sudhof
MGI ID: MGI:1857252
Synonyms: Syt-
Gene: Syt1  Location: Chr10:108333511-108846843 bp, - strand  Genetic Position: Chr10, 56.52 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:21602
Parent Cell Line:  J1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S4/SvJae
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA 5' portion of the exon encoding amino acids 270 through 308 and the preceding intron were replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. In addition to the coding sequence, the intron acceptor site was deleted. Lysates derived from the brains of homozygous mice were shown to contain less than 5% of the amount of a truncated form of the encoded protein compared to controls by immunoblotting. (J:21602)
