Targeted Allele Detail
Symbol: Selptm1Bay
Name: selectin, platelet; targeted mutation 1, Baylor College of Medicine
MGI ID: MGI:1857244
Synonyms: CD62ELP-, CD62P-, P-, P-sel-, P-selectin-
Gene: Selp  Location: Chr1:164115264-164150026 bp, + strand  Genetic Position: Chr1, 71.42 cM
Germline Transmission:  Earliest citation of germline transmission: J:24239
Parent Cell Line:  AB2.1 (ES Cell)
Strain of Origin:  129S7/SvEvBrd-Hprtb-m2
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion
Mutation detailsA neomycin resistance gene was inserted in the reverse orientation to delete a 4.5kb region containing exons 3 through 5. RT-PCR analysis of lung RNA isolated from homozygous mutant mice showed a transcript 682 base pairs shorter than normal. Immunohistochemical staining showed a lack of encoded protein on both endothelium and platelets. (J:24239)
