Mutation details: 2 kb of genomic sequence encompassing portions of exons 1 and 2 as well as the intervening intron were replaced with a cassette containing translational stop codons in all three reading frames, followed by a floxed neomycin resistance gene. The absence of protein was confirmed by Western blot analysis and by immunocytochemistry.
