Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout) Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion   Mutation details: Sequence encompassing the majority of exon 3 and and all of exon 4 was replaced by a neomycin selection cassette inserted by homologous recombination. Transcript was undetected in homozygous mutant mice by Northern blot analysis of postnatal brain RNA. Immunostaining of hippocampal neurons derived from homozygous mutant mice and grown in vitro indicated an absence of protein. (J:70502)
