Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutations:    Insertion, Intragenic deletion

Mutation detailsExon 3, the first coding exon, was replaced with a neomycin selection cassette. A truncated transcript was detected in RNA derived from the testes and spleens of mutant mice. This transcript was undetected using a probe for exon 3, indicating that sequence encoding the 5' and 3' phosphate-binding domains was absent, thus translation would not result in a functional protein.
