Mutation
description
Allele Type:    Targeted (Null/knockout)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe gene was disrupted by insertion of a neomycin resistance cassette into exon 1 after amino acid 162 of the LEC domain resulting in disruption of the protein's carbohydrate-binding domain. Northern blot analysis of lung from homozygous mutant animals detected several alternatively spliced mutant transcripts. Western blot, immunoprecipitation, and immunohistochemistry analyses were unable to detect gene expression in hearts from homozygous mutant animals. (J:22062)
