Mutation details: A bacterial artificial chromosome, BAC, (Incyte Genomics168M3) containing the mouse peptide YY (Pyy) gene was modified so that the Pyy promoter drives expression of a constitutively active cre recombinase (cre) gene. The BAC contains 117 kb of genomic DNA upstream of the Pyy locus and 130 kb downstream. The transgene also contains an FRT site leftover from the removal of an FRT-flanked kanamycin resistance cassette.
