1A
|
Intense immunoreactivity was detected, which was most prominent on the apical cell surfaces but was also found on the lateral cell membranes.
|
TS17: bronchus |
Weak |
Single cells |
1A
|
Very few cells in the bronchial bud region exhibited a weak, spotty immunoreactivity on their apical surface.

The proximal parts of the developing bronchi exhibited increasing immunoreactivity. More distal parts, representing proliferating regions of the bronchi, were immunonegative.

All airways down to segmental bronchi were strongly immunoreactive, while the distal branching buds were negative. Cytoplasmic staining was more and more prominent in the typical columnar cells of the lining epithelium in the proximal and medial parts of the bronchi, while the cuboidal epithelial cells in the distal, proliferating areas of the bronchi and bronchioli remained immunonegative.
