Mutation details: This is a transgene allele carrying the bacterial lacZ coding sequence under the control of the upstream regulatory region (URR) of the HPV type 11. Four lines (1697, 1702, 1704, and 1747) which express the transgene in vivo and which transmit the transgene to their offsprings were used for analysis. The lacZ expression was detected exclusively in cells of the hair follicles. A similar transcription patterns was observed in all transgenic founder lines studied.
