Mutation details: The transgene insert contains the following elements: 1.8 kb sequence from ~3.5kb downstream of Nr5a1 containing a fetal Leydig cell-specific Nr5a1 enhancer, 5.8 kb sequence containing Nr5a1 promoter (modified) and gene sequence up to and including 5' UTR on exon 2, the EGFP reporter gene, and SV40 poly(A) signal sequences. The modification of the promoter entails two point mutations that abolish an LHX9-binding site.
