Transposon insertion
Mutation details: The transgene insert contains the following elements: the 5' PiggyBAC transposon inverted repeat, Atoh1 enhancer E3, Hsp68 minimal promoter, beta-galactosidase reporter gene, SV40 early poly(A) signal sequences, and the 3' transposon inverted repeat. The transgene was injected into single-cell zygotes together with PiggyBAC transposase mRNA to facilitate integration into the genome. Several independent transgenic mouse lines were established. The reporter is expressed in the spinal cord and other neurological tissues during embryonic development.
