Mutation details: The pituitary-specific Pomc enhancer-containing sequence 7 kb upstream, including pituitary-specific Pomc enhancer/promoter-containing sequence 480 bp upstream of the transcription start site and the -34 to +63 bp minimal promoter, is used to drive expression of the luciferase reporter gene. Expression of the transgene is preferentially directed to anterior lobe (AL) pituitary corticotropes.
