Reference: J:231231 Abby E, et al., Implementation of meiosis prophase I programme requires a conserved retinoid-independent stabilizer of meiotic transcripts. Nat Commun. 2016;7:10324
Assay type: Immunohistochemistry
MGI Accession ID: MGI:6715979
Gene symbol: Kash5
Gene name: KASH domain containing 5
Antibody: Anti-Kash5
Results
Specimen 6c Meioc+/+: postnatal day 16 (more )
Note: Pachytene. Double labeled: green - Kash5; red - Sycp3 (assay MGI:6695313).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS28: spermatocyte Present 6c Meioc+/+ Pachy

Specimen 6c Meioc-/-: postnatal day 16; Meioctm1a(KOMP)Wtsi/Meioctm1a(KOMP)Wtsi (more )
Note: Zygotene-like. Double labeled: green - Kash5; red - Sycp3 (assay MGI:6695313).
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS28: spermatocyte Present 6c Meioc-/- Zygo-like Kash5 staining was observed at telomeric sites in mutant spermatocytes. However, in approximately half of the zygotene-like cells, Kash5 foci remained clustered indicating an arrest at the so-called 'bouquet' stage.
