description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Or4e5-cre)1Hsak expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsCre recombinase gene is expressed under the control of upstream cis-acting DNA region of the mouse Olfr1507, 2-kb conserved homology region, mouse H element enhancer, which regulates odorant receptor (OR) gene cluster expression and Olfr1507 promoter. Due to the H enhancer activity, the Cre gene, now under the control of the Tg MOR28 promoter, is frequently chosen and activated for transcription in OSNs. The MOR28 promoter cannot be activated when any one of the endogenous OR genes is expressed first, due to OR-mediated negative feedback regulation. (J:167943)
