Assay notes: These data are reported in Table 3. The primer set used in this assay amplifies exons 4-10; it generates products from nine splice variants. RFLP analysis and sequencing was used to determine which allele was responsible for observed expression of each isoform. Not all isoforms were analyzed in all tissues.

(a) This band represents expression from the maternal allele.
(b) Expression was observed from the maternal (Molossinus) allele. Observed isoforms were: e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10). The j isoform (exons 4-5-7-8-10) was exclusively expressed from the paternal (C57BL/6) allele, i.e. it is not expressed from the maternal allele.
(c) This band represents expression from the paternal allele.
(d) The j isoform (exons 4-5-7-8-10) was exclusively expressed from the paternal (C57BL/6) allele. The other analyzed isoforms were not expressed paternally: e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10).
(e) Expression was observed from the maternal (Molossinus) allele. Isoforms e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10) and f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10) were exclusively maternally expressed. Isoforms h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10) and i (exons 4-7-8-9-10) were biallelically expressed. Four other isoforms were exclusively paternally expressed: k (exons 4-5-6-7-8-10); j (exons 4-5-7-8-10); l (exons 4-5-7-8-10); and m (exons 4-7-8-10).
(f) Expression was observed from the paternal (C57BL/6) allele. Four isoforms were exclusively paternally expressed: k (exons 4-5-6-7-8-10); j (exons 4-5-7-8-10); l (exons 4-5-7-8-10); and m (exons 4-7-8-10). Isoforms h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10) and i (exons 4-7-8-9-10) were biallelically expressed. Two other isoforms were exclusively maternally expressed: e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10) and f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10).
(g) Expression was observed from the maternal (Molossinus) allele. Observed isoforms were e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and g (exons 4-5-7-8-9-9a-10).
(h) No expression was observed from the paternal (C57BL/6) allele. Analyzed isoforms were e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and g (exons 4-5-7-8-9-9a-10).
(i) Expression was observed from the maternal (C57BL/6) allele. Observed isoforms were e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10).
(j) No expression was observed from the paternal (Molossinus) allele. Analyzed isoforms were: e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); and h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10).
(k) Expression was observed from the maternal (C57BL/6) allele. Observed isoforms were e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10); i (exons 4-7-8-9-10); and j (exons 4-5-7-8-10).
(l) No expression was observed from the paternal (Molossinus) allele. Analyzed isoforms were: e (exons 4-5-6-7-8-9-10); f (exons 4-5-7-8-9-10); h (exons 4-6-7-8-9-10); i (exons 4-7-8-9-10); and j (exons 4-5-7-8-10).
