Mutation details: The transgene contains the following components: the rat nestin promoter, sequence coding for Kusabira-Orange fluorescent protein with d4-type PEST sequence at the C-terminus, rat nestin 2nd intronic enhancer, and poly(A) signal sequences. The PEST sequence was added to increase temporal resolution (reduce the protein life-span). Four mouse lines were established and line 70 was found to represent nestin expression the most accurately and with the strongest signal.
