Mutation details: A mutant form of Rps6kb1, containing a deletion of amino acids 246, truncation of carboxy-terminal 104 amino acids, and threonine to glutamatic acid mutation at position 412 (p70S6K D246/DCT104 T412E) is expressed from this construct under the control of a rat insulin I promoter. This mutant protein confers rapamycin resistance and increases in basal activity in transfected cells. Three mouse lines were generated, but only one line was studied further.
