Mutation details: Sequence for codons 1-287 and 422- 805 was ligated and placed downstream of tetracycline responsive elements (TRE) and a minimal CMV promoter. The gene is followed by SV40 poly(A) signal sequences. The gene is only expressed, in a tetracycline/doxycycline controllable manner, when mice carrying this allele also carry a tTA or rtTA allele.
