description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsAn IRES-lacZ cassette was inserted after the stop codon of Lrrc6 in BAC clone RP24-333G17. Beta-galactodisase is expressed under the control of the Lrrc6 promoter. X-gal staining revealed highly specific expression in node pit cells at E8.0. Expression was later detected in the notochord at E9.0, in the hindbrain, the branchial arches and neural tube at E11.0, in the hindbrain at E12.0 and in the forebrain at E13.0. In adult mice, expression was detected in epithelial cells of the trachea, seminiferous tubules of the testis, and ependymal cells of the cerebral ventricles, all of which possess motile cilia. No expression was detected in other cell types, including those with immotile cilia. (J:258369)
