Mutation details: The linearized BAC clone (RP23-476E23) encodes regulatory elements of mouse Bmp5 (but no coding sequences) and the last two exons of the Hmgcll1 gene; it was co-injected with a minimal hsp68-lacZ reporter. The clone was isolated from the RPCI-23 female (C57BL/6J) mouse BAC library and contains a sequence that controls expression of the medial perichondrium of embryonic ribs. Robust expression is observed at E14.5 dpc.
