Mutation details: The Venus YFP reporter gene was cloned into mouse BAC RP23-343C17, replacing the coding region of the glucagon gene (Gcg) from the start codon in exon 2 to the stop codon in exon 6. The experimental procedures introduced a nucleotide substitution in the non-coding sequence of exon 2, where it was deemed not to interfere with the expression. The final construct was injected into the pronuclei of fertilized (C57BL/6 x CBA)F1 eggs. The estimated copy number of this transgene is 12.
