description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Recombinase)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(Col11a2-cre)2Ntsu expression driven by 1 gene

Mutation detailsThe cre sequence replaced the beta-galactosidase gene in a plasmid containing the Col11a2 promoter (-742 to +380bp). This construct was injected into fertilized ova to establish a transgenic line. Animals were crossed to reporter mice and at E14.5, cre activity was observed only in flat chondrocytes, prehypertrophic and hypertrophic chondrocytes in limbs and ribs, but not in round choncrocytes at the ends of each primordial cartilage. Some aberrant activity was observed in the forebrain at E12.5. (J:142326)
