Mutation details: A 1.46 kb genomic region containing the E8iii enhancer element for the Cd8a gene was fused to 450bp of the Cd8a promoter and placed upstream of Cd4 cDNA. This transgene drives expression of CD4 in double positive T cells in the thymus. Expression in thymocytes was confirmed by crossing with mice that lack endogenous expression of CD4 and immunostaining for CD4.
