Mutation details: A 3970-bp segment located from 16.3-20.3 kb downstream of Mef2c exon 1 and 51.1-55.1 kb upstream of the first coding exon (exon 5) was used to direct human placental alkaline phosphatase expression. This region of the mouse Mef2c gene contains enhancer and promoter sequences sufficient to direct expression in mouse embryos to the anterior heart field and its derivatives in the pharyngeal mesoderm, the right ventricle, and the outflow tract.
