Assay type: Immunohistochemistry
MGI Accession ID: MGI:3830692
Gene symbol: L1cam
Gene name: L1 cell adhesion molecule
Antibody: anti-L1
Detection system: Secondary antibody coupled to horseradish peroxidase
Results
Specimen 3A: embryonic day 11.5 (more )
Note: Whole mount of ventral diencephalon.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS19: diencephalon Present Regionally restricted 3A Immunopositive axons in region of future optic chiasm are arranged in a V shape.

Specimen 3B: embryonic day 12.5 (more )
Note: Whole mount of ventral diencephalon.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS20: diencephalon Present Regionally restricted 3B
TS20: optic chiasma Present 3B Immunopositive axons in region of future optic chiasm
TS20: optic stalk Present Regionally restricted 3B Expression in retinal ganglion cell axons which have begun to invade the ventral diencephalon. A few immunopositive axons appear to be leaving the optic nerves to grow toward the future chiasm, but have yet to reach the chiasm neurons.

Specimen 3C: embryonic day 13.5 (more )
Note: Whole mount of ventral diencephalon.
Structure Level Pattern Image Note
TS21: diencephalon Present Regionally restricted 3C
TS21: optic chiasma Present 3C Immunopositive axons in region of future optic chiasm.
TS21: optic stalk Present Regionally restricted 3C A large number of immunopositive retinal ganglion cell axons have grown into the diencephalon and are intermixed with chiasm neurons.
