Transgene
description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Inserted expressed sequence)
Mutation:    Insertion

Tg(CD2-Gata3)1Staka expresses 1 gene

Mutation detailsA a full-length, 2-kb mouse Gata3 cDNA was inserted into the VA CD2 expression vector between, 5', the promoter, ATG-free mutant first exon and first intron of the human CD2 gene and 3', also from the CD2 gene, ~500 bp of 3' untranslated and flanking DNA including two polyadenylation signals and the 3' locus control region. A lacZ reporter gene was shown to be expressed from this vector in mature peripheral CD4+CD8- and CD4-CD8+ SP T lymphocytes and in peripheral CD4-CD8- DN T cells. (J:105228, J:131473)

Notes
This record is representative of at least two transgenic lines. Yoh et al. (J:131473) describe crossing mice of two transgenic lines (Tg 379, estimated by densitometric analysis to contain a single copy of the transgene; and Tg 720, with ~7 copies) to C57BL/6 for 3 generations, then to BXSB/MpJ-Yaa. Kiwamoto et al. (J:128630) say congenic mice were crossed to BALB/c for 8 generations; it is not stated whether they were of line Tg 379 and/or Tg 720.
