Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter) Mutation:    Insertion   Mutation details: The transgenic construct consists of the Red Fluorescent Protein (DsRed.T4 variant) gene and 2.1kb of sequence from the human growth hormone gene (to confer high expression of the DsRed.T4) under the control of the mouse insulin 1 promoter. Line 32 was subsequently established. Fluorescence is detected in tissues where insulin I is normally expressed; fluorescent protein expression in pancreatic beta-cells is evident from embryonic day (E)13.5 through adult. (J:120245)
