description
Transgene Type:    Transgenic (Reporter)
Mutation:    Insertion

Mutation detailsThe transgene expresses the cDNA encoding firefly luciferase under control of the heat shock protein 1B (Hsp1b) promoter. This promoter contains four tandem heat shock elements, each recognized by a specific heat shock factor; an inverted CCAAT box; a TATA box; two Sp1 binding sites; and an AP2 binding site. The transgene's expression mirrors that of the endogenous Hsp1b gene during preimplantation embryonic development: both are expressed constitutively at high levels at the 2-cell stage and are inducible from the blastocyst stage forward.
